MD Nursery and Landscaping – floral beauty in the heart of Idaho
At the base of the Teton mountains in Teton Valley, Idaho, the floral department of MD Nursery provides four small towns with beautiful flower arrangements.
Recently, The Teton Valley florist MD Nursery and Landscaping began purchasing roses from a Fair Trade rose plantation also located at the base of a mountain, but a mountain nestled in the Andes range of Ecuador. As Teton Valley is blanketed in about four feet of snow for nine months of the year, the busiest time for roses, with the exception of Valentine’s Day, is the summer.
During the warm summer months of July, August and September, the four to five woman florist team of MD is bustling with weddings, parties and celebrations. Recently, the Ecuadorian roses they began using had their debut in seventeen table arrangements for a fiftieth wedding anniversary held in the valley.
One florist explained, “We are so pleased with the Ecuadorian roses. Despite the fact that they travel a great distance, they last longer and are more beautiful than the roses we were buying before.” So if you are ever traveling through Teton Valley, Idaho and craving some beautiful roses, stop by and check them out!
