Visit by Photographer Caroline Bennett

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Yesterday at the farm we had a visit by the famous Maine photographer Caroline Bennett – she is doing a story on our edible organic roses. She shot lots of scrumptuous photos that hopefully she will be able to publish in the States. See more of her work on www.Carolinebennett.com

Harvesting for Valentines Day!!

Monday, February 8th, 2010

We are just about finished with our Valentines Day harvests here at the farm, and what a harvest it has been!

Adding Good Spiders That Eat Bad Spiders

The Weather was warm and dry leading up to the harvest, so we had EXTRA large roses, with heavy, pungent blooms. In the photo I am adding beneficial spiders that we produce our selves. We add them to our organic roses to get rid of bad spiders that eat the blooms. The Good Spiders eat the Bad Spiders until there are no Bad Ones left. I certainly hope all Buddhists out there will forgive us – because we do kill a lot of spiders…

This blog is about roses, and our life at the farm growing and harvesting millions of roses

for rose lovers around the world. You will be able to learn about farming, the wonderful rose species

and see photos from a working, living, breathing, roseplantation – heaving with roses!
